Mercedes-Benz Sprinter T1N Injector Hold-Down Bolt & Sealing Washer Kit | OM647 2.7L Diesel | 2004–2006

DESCRIPTION:

Any time an injector comes out of the T1N Sprinter's OM647 engine, the hold-down bolt and copper sealing washer must be replaced — no exceptions. The bolt is a torque-to-yield stretch bolt: once torqued, it's permanently deformed and should never be reused. Reused bolts are known to snap under load or lose clamping force, allowing the injector to work loose. The sealing washer is a crush washer that conforms to the injector tip on first installation and will not reseal reliably if reinstalled. This kit includes one complete set of both parts for all five cylinders — everything you need for a full injector service, done right the first time.

Why Both Must Be Replaced

The hold-down bolt is a stretch bolt — it stretches during torquing to create precise clamping force on the injector clamp. Once stretched, that clamping force cannot be reliably reproduced on reinstallation. The sealing washer is a single-use crush washer that seals the combustion chamber at the injector tip. Reusing either component risks injector blow-by, combustion gas leaks into the fuel system, and injector clamp failure — all of which are far more expensive than a $25 service kit.
