The VS30 Sprinter's OM642 accessory drive uses an additional idler pulley compared to the NCV3 configuration — ordering the NCV3 kit for a VS30 leaves one pulley unreplaced and creates an immediate potential failure point after the belt is replaced. This is the complete belt tensioner and pulley service kit for VS30 Sprinters equipped with the 3.0L OM642 V6 diesel engine, covering both serpentine belts, the tensioner assembly, two standard idler pulleys, and the additional VS30-specific idler pulley for a complete accessory drive restoration.

What's Included

The 7PK2035 serpentine belt and 6PK691 secondary belt cover both drive circuits on the OM642's split belt system. The belt tensioner assembly (6422001370) maintains correct tension on the primary serpentine belt — when its internal spring weakens or its pivot bearing wears, belt slip and noise develop. The two standard idler pulleys (6422001070 x2) and the additional VS30-specific idler pulley (6422000200) guide the belt around the full accessory drive layout on the VS30 engine bay. The additional idler was added to the VS30 configuration to accommodate routing differences from the NCV3 layout.

Why Kit Versus Individual Parts

Every component in this kit shares the same service life as the serpentine belt. Replacing only the belt leaves worn pulleys and a fatigued tensioner in service — transferring the load to the new belt and causing accelerated wear. The VS30-specific kit with the additional idler ensures nothing is left behind.

VS30 OM642 2019–2022 Specific

This kit is for VS30 Sprinters with the 3.0L OM642 diesel engine. It is not the same as the NCV3 kit — the additional idler (6422000200) is VS30-specific. Always verify model year before ordering.
