Mercedes Sprinter Lower Radiator Hose – OEM Replacement (Early NCV3) | #9065013282
The lower radiator hose is one of the most overlooked parts of the cooling system — until it fails. It carries cooled coolant from the bottom of the radiator back to the engine's water pump, completing the cooling circuit. When this hose softens, cracks, or collapses internally, coolant flow is restricted and your engine temperature starts climbing. This OEM-spec replacement restores full coolant flow and keeps your cooling system sealed and operating at capacity.
What This Part Does
The lower radiator hose is the return leg of the main coolant circuit — carrying cooled coolant from the radiator outlet directly to the water pump inlet. Unlike the upper hose, it runs on the cooler, lower-pressure side of the system, which means internal collapse from age and heat cycling is the more common failure mode rather than rupture. A collapsed hose restricts flow just as effectively as a leak.
When to Replace It
Replace this hose if you notice coolant loss with no visible external leak, rising engine temps, or a hose that feels soft or collapses when squeezed. It's also a smart preventive replacement any time you're doing water pump, thermostat, or radiator work — the labor is already there.
