What This Part Does

The rear brake rotor provides the friction surface that the rear brake caliper clamps against to generate stopping force at the rear axle. Unlike the front rotors, the rear uses a solid (non-vented) disc design — appropriate for the lower heat load of the rear axle. A true, flat rotor surface is essential for consistent brake pad contact, even wear, and a smooth pedal feel throughout the brake's service life.
