What This Part Does

The parking brake hardware kit provides the return springs, retaining hardware, and adjuster components that hold the brake shoes in correct position and ensure they retract fully when the parking brake is released. Worn or stretched springs cause the shoes to drag against the drum surface, wearing the shoes prematurely and generating heat in the rear brake assembly.
