What This Part Does

The front brake caliper houses the hydraulic pistons that clamp the brake pads against the rotor when the brake pedal is applied. On the NCV3 Sprinter 2500, the front caliper uses a dual-piston design for stronger, more even pad clamping force across the rotor surface. The caliper slides on the bracket during braking — when the slide pins seize or the piston bore corrodes, the caliper can no longer release fully, causing constant drag, uneven pad wear, and rotor damage.
