A failing DEF pump is one of the fastest ways to put a BlueTec Sprinter into limp mode. When the pump can't deliver diesel exhaust fluid to the SCR dosing system at the correct pressure, your van's emissions system throws faults, the warning lights come on, and if left unaddressed, the engine derate begins. This OEM replacement DEF pump restores proper fluid delivery to the SCR system and clears the fault pathway before it becomes a derate situation.

What This Part Does

The DEF pump draws diesel exhaust fluid (AdBlue/urea solution) from the DEF tank and delivers it under pressure to the dosing injector nozzle, where it's introduced into the exhaust stream upstream of the SCR catalyst. The SCR system uses this urea spray to convert harmful NOx emissions into harmless nitrogen and water. Without consistent DEF delivery at the correct pressure, the chemical reaction can't occur — triggering fault codes, warning lights, and eventually engine power reduction.
