Mercedes Sprinter Blower Motor Resistor – OEM Replacement | #0008212992 (2007–2018)

If your Sprinter's cabin fan only works on certain speeds — or has stopped responding to the fan control altogether — the blower motor resistor is almost certainly the cause. This small but critical component controls fan speed by regulating the electrical current to the blower motor. When it fails, you lose the ability to adjust airflow, which on a work van running all day in Florida heat is more than just an inconvenience.

What This Part Does

The blower motor resistor sits in the HVAC airflow path and controls the speed of the blower motor by varying the electrical resistance in the circuit. Each fan speed setting corresponds to a different resistance level — when the resistor burns out, one or more speeds stop working. A fully failed resistor means no fan control at all.

Common Symptoms of a Failed Resistor

• Fan only works on high speed
• Fan doesn't work on certain speed settings
• Fan completely inoperative despite blower motor being functional
• HVAC warning displayed on the instrument cluster
