Why Replace the Full Kit

A new belt on worn pulleys and a weak tensioner is a short-term fix. The tensioner spring weakens over time and can no longer maintain consistent belt tension — which causes slipping, chirping, and premature belt wear even on a fresh belt. The idler and deflection pulleys develop bearing play that introduces vibration and uneven belt loading. Replacing all four components together eliminates these failure modes in a single service and avoids having to revisit the job.

When to Replace

Replace the serpentine belt every 60,000–80,000 miles or at any sign of cracking, glazing, or fraying. Replace the tensioner and pulleys at the same interval or when bearing play or tensioner spring weakness is detected. Also replace after any belt snap event — inspect all components for damage before reinstalling.

T1N Only — Not for NCV3 or VS30

This kit is specific to the 2004–2006 T1N Sprinter with the OM647 2.7L 5-cylinder diesel. It is not compatible with any NCV3 or VS30 Sprinter.
