What This Part Does

The A/C condenser sits at the front of the vehicle and works like a radiator for refrigerant. After the compressor pressurizes the refrigerant, the condenser dissipates that heat by passing the refrigerant through a network of fins and tubes exposed to airflow. The cooled, condensed refrigerant then cycles into the evaporator to produce cold air in the cabin. A condenser that's leaking, clogged, or damaged with bent fins can't complete this process efficiently — or at all.

When to Replace It
