The NCV3 and VS30 Sprinter uses a traditional drum-in-hat parking brake integrated into the rear disc brake rotor — and when those internal brake shoes wear out, your parking brake stops holding. On a commercial van parked on inclines or left unattended during deliveries, a failed parking brake is both a safety risk and a compliance issue. This is the Pagid OEM rear parking brake shoe set — a complete kit with shoes, adjuster, bushing, and springs — everything needed to restore a reliable, fully functional parking brake.

What This Part Does

The parking brake on the NCV3 Sprinter operates via small drum brake shoes housed inside the hat of the rear disc brake rotor. When the parking brake lever or pedal is engaged, these shoes expand against the inner drum surface to hold the rear wheels stationary. Unlike the main disc brake system, the parking brake operates mechanically via cable — making it independent of hydraulic brake failure. When the shoes wear down, parking brake holding force diminishes and eventually disappears entirely.

What's Included

This is a complete parking brake shoe kit — shoes, adjuster hardware, bushing, and return springs. No need to source individual components separately.

When to Replace

Replace when the parking brake no longer holds the van on a grade, when the travel of the parking brake lever increases significantly, or any time the rear brake rotors are replaced — the drum surface inside the rotor hat wears together with the shoes and both should be inspected at the same time.

Note: Not for Electric Parking Brake Models

This shoe set is for mechanical parking brake systems only. It is not compatible with VS30 Sprinters equipped with the electric parking brake (EPB). Always verify your parking brake configuration before ordering.
