The Mercedes 722.6 automatic transmission used in the NCV3 Sprinter doesn't have a conventional permanent dipstick — fluid level is checked using this dedicated tool, which is inserted into the dipstick tube, read, and then removed. Without this tool, accurately checking transmission fluid level on a Sprinter is not possible. This is the Febi Bilstein transmission fluid level dipstick tool for all NCV3 Sprinters with the 722.6 automatic transmission.

What This Part Does

This is a transmission fluid measurement tool, not a permanent component. It is inserted into the transmission dipstick tube to check automatic transmission fluid level, then removed after use. The graduations on the fluid end read from 25 (low) to 80 (high) in degrees Celsius, indicating the correct fluid level at both cold and hot operating temperatures. The 722.6 transmission is designed to be checked and serviced with this specific tool — using any other method risks incorrect fluid level readings.

Critical Usage Notes

This is a use-and-remove tool — do not leave it in the vehicle after checking fluid level. Always refit the sealing cap after use. The filler cap lock pin (part #1409910055) is required to properly reseal the dipstick tube after fluid level checks — order it alongside this tool if you don't already have one.
